Swirling steam at four AM.
Looking out over coffee,
I see a friend, a brother, a connection
Someone to put my hand out to,
Stretch my fingers,
Grasp a dream.
Talents I may have, yes,
And maybe vision too,
But nothing in my head I want to share so much
As the thoughts that separate us:
The things I can't divine on my own,
The questions I have to ask,
I have to listen because I can't guess the answers.
I wish I were tall sometimes,
With big fuzzy hair because it fits you well,
And big feet in black shoes
That spread out for ten feet under the table,
So that I have to shift my own legs to fit in between
And not kick you.
Over swirling steam, catching your last grin,
I have to smile back
At a friend, a brother, a connection
A dream I never knew I wanted.

I like the third stanza the best.
And by the way...Hannibal, Mach, this is my friend Luna from elsewhere in HB. Luna, this is Hannibal and Mach, and this is Word and Voice where I come to every now and then. In fact, I'm probably overdue for a posting.

Hehehe... I already know Hanny, Crazy A! I came by to offer criticism on some of his poems and got inspired in the process. Thanks for the introductions and kind words, however.

Yah crazy a!

but thanks for the re-intro.
It has been a LONG time since i've spoke to La Luna on HB, and it's nice to see her here.
As for you Crazy A, i thought you had died!!!
you are well overdue for a posting, but it's like they say, you can't force it.
